RED RESULTS TO END JUNE

The weekend saw two very narrow losses and four fanastic wins for the REDS.

It was a 9 goal thriller at Corbett park in the Championship mens game and unfortunately it was home side who nabbed 5 to the REDS 4.  Michael Reive nabbed a brace with the other two goals coming from Oliver Hill and captain Jack Richardson. The Western Autos Moturoa side maintain 3rd spot for the week.

In the Premier game at OTD the home side held a narrow 1-0 lead at the break after a well constructed counter attack was finished off by golden boot leader Tyler Webber.

The game sat in the balance at 1-1 after a FCW goal in the 50th min.  When a 83rd min strike snuck inside the post to give the visitors the lead, the crowd enjoyed end to end action. A game of inches that resulted in a gut wrenching and hard fought loss.

The Division 1 side nabbed a long awaited first win of the season courtesy of a 1-0 win at Waitara. The Jason Richardson goal also ensured the Icon Trophy (played for between the two clubs) stayed with Moturoa. The side jumped two spots in a congetsed table. Well done lads.

The Withers Coachlines sponsored DIv 3 side carried on its surge up the table with a 5th consecutive win.  Goals come from the father and son duo of Will and Thomas Grieve. Sam Sutton rounded out the 3-0 win with another goal to his tally.

Sunday saw two very good wins to the ladies in RED.

The premier women made light work off Waitara with a 7-1 win. In a rematch of the tight cup game from last week it was the REDS who started well and collected goals throughout the 90 minutes. Evealyn Newman scoring 3, with 2 to Bonnie Parker.

Brooke Carter and Jasmine Middlebrookrounded out the goal scorers. The win puts the team at the top of the table with one round to go before splitting into a top six.

That Excel Refrigeration sponsored Federation team travelled to Palmerston North, and come home with a well-deserved, controlled and composed 2-0 win over the host PN Marist.

The game played at a windy Memorial Park saw the girls score two very well taken goals by Fernanda Toscaniand player of the day Madi Hill.  Fernanda continues to lead the leagues golden boot race and the side made it a perfect points haul from their 7 games.

WAY TO GO YOU REDS. BRING ON JULY.
